What's this all about

This project is looking at ways to help make Cinderford town centre more:

The environmental enhancement study is looking at ways to smarten up the town centre. A range of proposals have been drawn up to show how the main shopping area, between the Town Council offices in the south and Lidl in the north, could be improved. The proposals consider ways to improve the footpaths, slow traffic down and make it easier for pedestrians to cross the road. They also look at how lighting, public art and street furniture could be used to make the town centre more attractive and distinctive.

A key focus for the project has been to consider whether a larger pedestrianised area could be created around the Triangle.

In the Autumn we held an exhibition to gain feedback on a range of options. You can view the exhibition boards by clicking here. <<Download A PDF of these Exhibition Boards here>>

The comments people gave in the autumn helped us to narrow down the options and identify a preferred strategy. Before we finalise the plans we'd like to check our proposals have the support of the wider community. We've therefore put together a consultation leaflet and questionnaire so that everyone can have their say.

The leaflet was delivered to households in the Cinderford area with the 'Review' during mid January. You can also download it here. To send the downloaded version of the questionnaire to us, please use an envelope and write our freepost address on the front. Please ensure all comments reach us by Monday 5th February 2007.
